Proa's Library recommended book: "Desconfiar de las imágenes".

In March LibrerÃa Proa recommends Desconfiar de las imágenes, the most recent anthology of essays by filmmaker Harun Farocki, complied by Inge Stache and Ezequiel Yanco and prologued by art critic Georges Didi-Huberman.
The book is an addition to Harun Farocki, the first individual exhibition of the artist in Argentina, on display at Proa until Apirl 2, and to the film series Harun Farocki: Cuando la imagen se revela, which will be shown in the Auditorium during March.
Edited by Caja Negra Editora, the book will be presented on Thursay, March 14, at 7 pm in Universidad de Cine, with the participation of Farocki himself, who will be visiting the country for the first time.

Desconfiar de las imágenes tries to sketch a sort of "intellectual biography" from a selection of texts published by Harun Farocki from 1980 to 2010 in magazines, newspapers, books and exhibition catalogues in museums and galleries. These essays not only reflect the concepts and lines of investigation involved in his cinematographic work, but also extend, expanding and deepening the scope of his critical work.
