From September 12 to 20, 2026, artist Thomas Hirschhorn will be in residence in Buenos Aires as a guest of the Art Center at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (UTDT), in collaboration with PROA21, the Institut Français, and Pro Helvetia.

As part of this residency, PROA21 and the UTDT Art Center present FORO POST-POST, a project centered on collective reflection and production that explores the intersections between artificial intelligence, human experience, and contemporary practices of visual communication.

The project outlines a temporal and narrative arc that invites the public to engage with the site through various modalities: by taking part in collective production sessions or by visiting the artworks and "analog posts" that will continuously transform PROA21's exhibition spaces throughout the week.

Prompted by Hirschhorn's core question—“What can we still do without Artificial Intelligence?”—the project initiates an open participatory action. On Saturday, September 12, the project opens with a collective discussion on the topic, followed by a production workshop alongside a prominent group of Argentine artists. The output from this first session will remain on view at PROA21 starting Sunday, September 13, allowing visitors to explore and engage with the outcomes of this initial encounter.

On Saturday, September 19, a local team of artists will reactivate the process, inviting the community once again to intervene in the space, generate new works, and contribute their voices to the ongoing gallery experience, accompanied by performative and musical interventions from the performing arts. The public is specifically encouraged to participate in both sessions (September 12 and 19) to fully experience the collective transformation of the site, whose final iterations will remain on view through Sunday, September 20.

The FORO builds a bridge between Argentina’s rich history of political printmaking—from Tucumán Arde to the Siluetazo—and contemporary modes of digital circulation, seeking to flood virtual networks with analog imagery born from direct public interaction.

Prior to the launch of the FORO, Hirschhorn will deliver a public lecture on his latest project, the Simone Weil Pavilion, on Friday, September 11, at 7:00 PM at the Universidad Di Tella Campus (Figueroa Alcorta 7350).
