This a wall-based work, the size of an average billboard that combines the hard-hitting language of advertising with characteristically humorous word play. Here the artist's face is depicted in profile and close-up, with a toy soldier poised threateningly between her eyes. The words 'Over My Dead Body' are printed boldly next to Hatoum's face, The work depicts a symbol of threatening masculinity – a soldier – as a minuscule object, more akin to an annoying fly, as well as deflecting both the male gaze and the highly gendered language of advertising.
