Artist Mariano Ferrante visits the Centro Cultural Nómade
05.03.2012
Sunday, May 6 - 2 to 6 PM
This weekend, Mariano Ferrante visits the Centro Cultural Nómade and invites us to create objects enabling to observe the urban and natural environment, generating new perspectives of the elements surrounding us.
Guided by the artist, we undertake a world in which everyday objects are transformed into works of art, with a myriad of colors: the colors of the neighborhood and nature. An invitation to exploit our imagination and become creative.

School holidays in Proa
02.06.2012
The Kindergarten No. 5 of the City of Buenos Aires participated in the Centro Cultural Nómade as part of the program "Holidays in the school".
After visiting the exhibition Gods, rites and crafts of the prehispanic Mexico in Proa's rooms, the 3-5 year old children worked on the relationship between man and nature, the merger of animals with humans, the sacred animals and the rituals in the cultures of the Gulf of Mexico. Inspired by colors, sounds, rites and costumes, the children produced their own masks.
Imaginary and possible cities
01.30.2012
Aquatic, aerial and underground amazing cities were designed by children and adults on the sidewalk: an original collective action that took place last weekend in the Centro Cultural Nómade.
Firstly, participants recognized texts by Italo Calvino, paintings by Xul Solar, Gyula Kosice's hydrospatial cities, and Tomás Saraceno and Carlos Garaicoa's projects. Literature, art and architecture inspired bizarre, imaginary and futuristic cities.
Aquatic cities seemed like fishes, boats and mermaids. Buildings in aerial cities were constructed over clouds and balloons, taking spiral forms to rise in the wind like Leonardo da Vinci's designs. The cold and dark underground city contained a castle with secluded inhabitants.
The city of the future has already arrived in Proa
01.23.2012
With an original intervention on the sidewalk, based on a city of the future that emerged from three imaginary stations -past, present and future- started the 2012 season of art workshops on the sidewalk, hand in hand with the Centro Cultural Nómade and Proa.
Over a hundred visitors, adults and children -among neighbors, tourists and those who approached showing interest-, participated during the two days of opening, displaying their creativity and creating a work full of reflection and play.
The iconic images of the photographer Christiano Junior documenting the founding moments of La Boca, were the basis to think about a time when the neighborhood's identity was forever marked.
In this way, during the activities on Saturday and Sunday, artists and educators invited visitors to stay attentive to details, sounds and feelings that make that past different from the present represented in the Nomad mirrors, that were available to look at the images that surround us. So, before them, everyone could look at themselves in an exercise that departed from individual recognition and culminated in an enriching environment perception.
So, what comes had to be built by thinking about the design of that dreamed city; establishing urgent changes, disposing new means of transport, seal the way of relating to nature: the city of the future had then lakes, rockets, parks all around and a renewed Nicolás Avellaneda bridge.
The next weekend, workshops will start at 11:30 am working until 1:00 pm., to take up again the activities at 3:00 pm.
Spread it out! In the sidewalk of Proa, this summer a lot is yet about to come!
The container arrived and art workshops will begin this Saturday in the sidewalk of Proa
01.19.2012
The container in which the Centro Cultural Nomade operate is already installed near the entrance of Proa, and on January, from this Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd, proposes to play and create with art workshops for all ages.
While the garden that cover its roof is being arranged, artists and educators prepare special activities that invite kids, young people and adults to participate for free.
This weekend, the 2012 season starts its workshops with a special slogan: "Time Travel". How is the city where I live, how was it? How I wish it were? The idea is to build a "city of the future", looking at the past and present, and shaking occurrences and ingenuity.
With its recycled wood furniture that serve as tables, desks and chairs, the Centro Cultural Nómade thus returns to Proa where it began operating a year ago and from where it left to go to two other artistic venues in the south of the city: cheLA (Centro Hipermediático Experimental Latinoamericano) and the CMD (Centro Metropolitano de Diseño).
It is time to play, create and travel! We will be waiting for you since this Saturday on the sidewalk, every weekend from 11:30 to 13 and 15 to 19 hours.
