Alberto Giacometti: Colección de la Fundación Alberto y Annette Giacometti, ParísA project by Véronique Wiesinger, the catalog to the exhibition Alberto Giacometti: Collection of the Alberto and Annette Giacometti Foundation, Paris reconstructs Giacometti’s oeuvre and thinking. The publication contains reproductions of an outstanding body of work representative of Giacometti’s entire production, as well as a group of texts that delve into this outstanding figure. Published in conjunction with the Giacometti Foundation, this book constitutes a unique bibliographical source in Argentina.

The publication includes a never-before-published text by the exhibition’s curator, Véronique Wiesinger, that provides the theoretical and historical framework necessary to grasping Giacometti’s work; a study by Cecilia Braschi on the ties between Giacometti and South America that offers unprecedented research on his relationship with Argentine art dealers and collectors; a chapter on Giacometti’s writings that evidences the intensity of his theoretical conception, the indelible influence of Surrealism on his thinking, as well as his singular vision of art; a dialogue between Giacometti and Antonio del Guercio first published in 1962, and an exhaustive timeline of the artist’s life.
