Following the recognized success of the exhibition Marcel Duchamp: a work that is not a work “of art” , Fundación Proa announces its activities for the 2009 season 2009.
The program, which will inaugurate on March 14 at 14 hs, will cover Proa´s entire building, presenting not only in the exhibition rooms but also in the Library and Café, transforming its daily life through the interventions and presentations of artists, photographers, and curators.
The ground floor will present ”Art in the Auditorium”, an exhibition on contemporary video installations, organized by the Whitechapel Gallery of London, and now arriving to La Boca.
The first floor will be dedicated to the honoring of books in their different forms of expressions: its history as a reflection of contemporary artistic movements in “Artists’ Books “;
presented as an installation with Jorge Macchi’s “Block”; as an album-book through Facundo de Zuviría’s photographic perspective.
The cafeteria and the terrace, on the second floor, will be taken over by the invited artists Karina Granieri and Julia Masvernat, whom will intervene the facilities basing themselves on the concept of nutrition.

1 Art in the Auditorium
Organized by the Whitechapel Gallery, London
An exhibition on current video installation which brings together the most outstanding contemporary expressions.
Artists: Leandro Erlich, Shahryar Nashat, Cornelia Parker, among others.
2 Artists’ Books of the Luigi Pecci Prato collection
The history of 20th century art’s different movements as seen in 81 books by Italian artists, such as Boetti, Fontana, Pistoletto, and Cattelan.
Presented on occasion of the Feria del Libro in Buenos Aires.
In collaboration with the Instituto Italiano de Cultura de Buenos Aires.
3 Installation: Block, by Jorge Macchi
In the PROA Library area, the artist Jorge Macchi will present an installation of his new book.
In collaboration with the Embassy of Italy.
4 PROA through the vision of Facundo de Zuviria
Photographs of Fundacion PROA’s architecture.
5 Interventions in PROA’s cafeteria
Invited artists Karina Granieri and Julia Masvernat will carry out different interventions.
