The exhibition “Marcel Duchamp, a work that is not a work of `art´”, was bestowed with the “Roger Pla a la exhibition individual de artista del año 2008” (“Roger Pla to the individual exhibition of artist year 2008”) award. This distinction is presented annually by the Asociación Argentina de Críticos de Arte – AACA (Association of Argentinean Art Critics). This year, the jury was integrated by Marina Bertonassi, Sarah Guerra and Victoria Verlichak.
The ceremony took place on November 30th at the Latin American Art Museum (MALBA) with an auditorium crowded by spectators and artists who enjoyed the ceremony and the closing cocktail. Adriana Rosenberg, Director of Fundacion Proa, was there to receive the prize.
It is an honor for us, to receive this distinction, which was the product of the work, which began from the will of the collector Jorge Helft, Project Leader; Elena Filipovic, curator of the exhibition; Cintia Mezza, general coordinator and the assistants Iara Freiberg and Debbie Grimberg, among other partners, all who choose the work of this important artist to inaugurate Fundación PROA´s new building.
