Breakfast TyPA: Meeting for International Editors
The international group of editors invited to La Boca
On the frame of TyPA Week for Editors in Buenos Aires, Fundación Proa and TYPA flattered the visiting international editors with a working breakfast. The main objective of the encounter was showing them the Books by Artists exhibition as well as giving them a rich overview on the independent editorial firms carried on our Library. The presence of Eloisa Cartonera editions caught a special attention, not only for the quality of their publications but also for their cooperative projects and social solidarity.
Fundación TyPA has been organizing this annual program for the past six years, with the objective of establishing direct contacts with the local editorial scene, promoting authors, editorials and books. More than sixty professionals have visited our country result are shown with the great quantity of Argentinean works found in bookstores around the world, including Paris, Berlin, Roma, London, San Pablo, New York, Athens, Switzerland, Tel Aviv, and Amsterdam, all thanks to the exchange produced during this events.
Among the editors that attended the breakfast were Corinna Santa Cruz, from Suhrkamp editorial (Germany); Brigitte Bouchard, from Allusifs (Canada); Edwin Frank, representing New York Review Books (United States); Rowan Cope, from Little Brown (UK); Marco Fiocca, Mondadori (Italy), among the cultural representatives from each country and Argentinean editorials such as Emecé, Clarín, Larivière.
