Proa promotes its new building and the neighborhood of La Boca
As part of its project to promote its new facilities and the neighborhood of La Boca, Fundacion Proa scheduled, from this week on, a program of visits of diverse public and private groups of Buenos Aires and the world. The initiative seeks to disseminate Proa, architectural and conceptually as a whole, “as an open, welcoming, which blurs the boundaries between interior and exterior.”
Accompained by the president of Proa, Adriana Rosenberg, and the architect Giuseppe Caruso, who was in charge of the renovation of the building from the beginning of the project, in 2006, visitors are guided by the new exhibition rooms, the auditorium, the library and the cafe. The also tour the exhibition Marcel Duchamp: a work that is not a work of art”.
Among the guests, this week visited Proa the members of Tenaris, Ternium and Techint Organization, companies that support the work of Proa since the beggining of its activities. Also for them, the visit was part of the constant invitation of Fundación Proa to promote and make their people proud to belong to an institution that promotes quality contemporary art in the city, the country and the world.
The activities also seek to discover Proa into the city and give a new look of the institution and La Boca to get them closer boto to the neighbors and for the rest of Buenos Aires and domestic and international toruists. In this context, were also invited representatives of the most important hotels in the city, for that also, in its efforts to disseminate the outstanding places of Buenos Aires, Proa is part of a map that includes art, in a neighborhood that also has a high interest to visitors.
They were also part of this program architecture students at the University of Buenos Aires, as Proa is also an attraction for its remodeling project, the two sides of the historic and renovated in front of the mansion that originally hosted the Foundation in La Proa Boca, incorporates two façades glass full of contemporaneity, both technological and visual.
Guided by an educator of Proa team, the group toured the exhibition of Marcel Duchamp and stopped in the explanations of the most emblematic of the artist, like Bicycle wheel, Fountain and The Large Glass. Giuseppe Caruso spoke about the details of the project architectural and design exhibition in the sample of Marcel Duchamp. For his part, Adriana Rosenberg talked with visitors about the process of building the new headquarters of Proa and plans of the Foundation for the year ahead.
